The demise of the BBC in Scotland is fine in terms of its anti-SNP influence weakening, but at some point we have to acknowledge a trusted - TRUSTED! - public service broadcaster is necessary and vital.
The Scottish parliament will have to act at some point to address the situation at BBC Scotland. STV's decision to cut its north east news service is just more evidence of how badly served Scotland is by broadcasters.
Scots contribute over £300m each year to BBC coffers. We are being short changed.
@Feargal_Sharkey Silly! You shouldn't have voted for political parties who wanted to sell all of it off to the highest bidder (probably lots of that party's member's families benefitted directly). It stinks to high heaven - just like your rivers!
@msm_monitor Sick of them all saying, 'We'll continue to hammer home our beliefs denouncing the SNP," etc, etc, etc, when the electorate have sent a clear message that we're NOT interested. There's something pathologically unhinged about that. Just go away Sarwar, Cole-Hamilton and all....
Another day with no gas used in Scotland to generate electricity but all of our bills based on high cost gas. We can't sort this in the UK. We can only fix it by leaving.
@MhairiHunter Clearly substandard works are being signed off by the council, they should be being more rigourous. It's the quality of work that's the issue, not the quantity. Resurfacing crumbles, drains sink in, old potholes reappear, we're doing *something* wrong...
@MhairiHunter That's good to hear, and I do see it regularly at the mo, but they should never have got this bad. I think deregulation of facilities companies bring allowed to dig roads was the beginning of the trouble, surface reinstatement is not managed well enough.
If Reform had won in Scotland/ Wales it wd be an endorsement of detention centres, migrant hostility, austerity & welfare cuts. Question Time panels wd be full of it. But the SNP & pro indy Scottish Greens HAVE won, yet that's not an endorsement of independence. Go figure.
You have to admit, today's Scottish results for the SNP and particularly the Scottish Greens are pretty remarkable considering 99% of the news media were briefing against them on a daily basis. Imagine if we had an independent press. 🤔
I've got the TV on in the background, it's fascinating and pathetic in equal measure watching the @BBCScotlandNews coverage trying to spin SNP bad in the face of great results. They must be livid. Defund them on day 1.
Scotland has vast energy resources, yet some of the highest energy bills in Europe.
Our only oil refinery has been closed and massive renewable investment projects have been blocked.
The choice is ours: a dim future in the UK, or a bright one as an independent nation.

Private companies that sign contracts to deliver public services and then fail to do so should never be allowed to pay dividends to shareholders. A shareholder is a company owner. A company owner who takes public money, doesn't deliver, but takes profit, should be prosecuted.
@MhairiHunter I've been at my current address for nearly 15 years and I have never had a door knock from any party. I'm so ready for them as well!! 🤣🤣🤣
