小泉今日子さんのライブのオープニングに、
忌野清志郎さんの「イマジン」が流れました。
高木完さんがDJしていて、
彼が小泉さんと話して、流すことを決めたそうです。
「イマジン」はもともとジョン・レノンの曲で、
その日本語詩を清志郎さんが書いたのですが、
最後の部分は、自分の歌の一節を流用しています。
それはRCサクセションの「窓の外は雪」という歌の「僕らは薄着でわらっちゃう」という歌詞とメロディーです。
清志郎さんは「イマジン」の最後にそれを何度も繰り返します。
私は「イマジン」の清志郎バージョンで、
この一節の意味がすこしぼんやりしているな、とずっと思っていたのです。
ところが一昨日、小泉さんのライブで聴いた時。
「ああ、そうか、武装しないって意味なんだな」と思ったのでした。
「鎧を着ずに、薄着でヘラヘラしちゃおう」という意味に聞こえたのです。
で、改めて元の歌の「窓の外は雪」を聴いてみました。
これは二人のカップルが部屋で愛し合っていて、
その部屋の外では雪が降っているというラブソングですが、
もしかしたらこの歌の時点で清志郎さんは、
「窓の外は雪」を、ある種戦争などをイメージして書いていたのかも、と思ったのでした。
今度、清志郎さんの映画やりますね。
私はこの映画の試写会に先日行きました。
久しぶりに清志郎さんに会えた気がしました。
