Ethan Pecko Under 14.5 Outs
Second career start.
Last outing: 3.2 IP on 89 pitches.
Command wasn’t there and the pitch count climbed fast.
Tonight he faces the Yankees at Yankee Stadium.
The workload and leash are major concerns in just his second MLB start.
Most realistic expectation sits in the 12–15 out range.
Under 14.5 is the play.

Paul Skenes Over 1.5 Walks (-125)
Skenes’ command has been shaky lately. He’s issued 4, 1, 4, 4, 2, and 2 walks across his last six starts, going over this 1.5 line in 5 of those 6 outings. That’s 17 walks in 30.2 innings over that stretch.
The bigger concern is how much his walk rate has climbed recently. Skenes sits around 2.7 BB/9 for the season, but that number jumps to roughly 5.0 BB/9 across his last six starts. He also issued 4 walks his last time out against Detroit despite throwing only 81 pitches.
San Diego presents a solid matchup for this angle. The Padres have drawn 460 walks this season, 11th-most in MLB, and Skenes enters this start with a clear recent command issue rather than just one isolated bad outing.
Play: Paul Skenes Over 1.5 Walks (-125)
Cade Cavalli Over 6.5 Strikeouts (~-110)
Cavalli has been dominant lately — 11, 10, and 8 strikeouts across his last three starts. He’s carrying a K/9 over 10 for the season with real swing-and-miss ability.
Colorado ranks among the more strikeout-prone offenses, particularly against right-handers. Cavalli already recorded 8 Ks against this same lineup earlier this year.
The combination of recent form and a favorable matchup makes 6.5 look soft.

There has to be a better way than opening every sportsbook one by one like I’m doing inventory at Walmart.

Hunter Brown UNDER 17.5 Pitching Outs (-105)
This is my favorite play on today’s MLB slate, and the handicap is much more about workload and pitch efficiency than whether Hunter Brown is a good pitcher.
We only need Brown to record 17 outs or fewer. In other words, he has to complete 6 full innings to beat us.
My projection has him at roughly 15.4 outs.
Here’s why I’m attacking the Under:
Brown’s biggest problem this season has been command.
His walk rate has jumped dramatically, and the walks are doing more damage than simply putting runners on base. Every deep count and free pass increases his pitch count without adding an out.
That is exactly what we want when betting an Outs Under.
Brown can have good stuff, generate strikeouts and even limit runs while still failing to complete 6 innings.
That distinction matters.
We are NOT betting on Hunter Brown to get shelled.
We are betting against his ability to efficiently record 18 outs before Houston goes to the bullpen.
The recent workload supports it.
Brown has completed 5 innings or fewer in 6 of his 13 starts this season.
He has also gone exactly 5 innings in each of his last two starts.
In his most recent outing, he needed around 90 pitches just to get through 5 innings while issuing 5 walks.
That is basically the blueprint for this bet.
If Oakland can extend plate appearances, force three-ball counts and make Brown work, Houston doesn’t need to score a bunch of runs against him.
They simply need to make him throw pitches.
There is another layer here too.
Brown missed more than two months earlier this season with a right shoulder strain.
He is healthy and active now, so I’m not betting this because I expect an injury.
But that history matters when thinking about Houston’s incentive to push him deep into a start.
If Brown reaches the fifth inning around 85-95 pitches, there is very little reason for Houston to squeeze unnecessary outs out of him with a bullpen available.
The number is also important.
17.5 gives us the entire sixth inning as the battleground.
5.0 IP = 15 outs — WIN
5.1 IP = 16 outs — WIN
5.2 IP = 17 outs — WIN
6.0 IP = 18 outs — LOSS
That makes pitch efficiency the key variable.
Brown has the talent to pitch six or seven innings.
But his current command profile has made getting there much harder.
My number: 15.4 outs
Market: 17.5 outs
Difference: 2.1 outs
We are getting more than two outs of separation between my projection and the sportsbook line.
Main risk: Brown suddenly finds the strike zone, keeps the walks down and cruises through six efficient innings.
But at 17.5, I think the combination of his walk issues, elevated pitches per inning, recent short outings and Houston’s lack of incentive to overextend him creates enough margin to take the Under.
