Two weeks on from Military Robotics and Autonomous Systems Conference, we’re still reflecting on the strength of the discussions and insights shared across defence and industry on the evolving role of Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS).
We were proud to present “Simulate to dominate: the synthetic path to combat engineering superiority”, outlining how robotics and autonomy are becoming true operational drivers within combat engineering.
Our team welcomed valuable conversations around emerging technologies, exploring the opportunities facing robotics and autonomous systems.
Thank you to all who attended our presentation session or stopped by our stand.

This week we’re at Military Robotics and Autonomous Systems in London, 13–15 April.
We’ll be speaking on ‘Simulate to dominate: the synthetic path to combat engineering superiority’ on Wednesday at 2:45pm (Stream B).
We’ll share real world examples of systems in operational use and how high fidelity simulation acts as a force multiplier, accelerating development and de risking capability before deployment.
One of the systems we’ll be focusing on is Threat Sense.
Threat Sense provides real time detection of surface laid threats across both air and land platforms.
Here’s a teaser of what we’ll be showcasing…

We recently attended an insightful North East Chamber of Commerce session on entering the King’s Awards for Enterprise.
With three Queen’s Awards for Enterprise under our belt - International Trade (2013 & 2022) and Innovation (2012) - it was a valuable reminder of what goes into a strong, competitive submission.
Held at Middlesbrough FC’s Riverside Stadium, the event covered the prestige and benefits of the awards, with practical guidance from the King’s Awards team in London. With entries opening 6 May, the timing couldn’t have been better.
Thank you to the NECC and the King’s Awards team for an informative and motivating event.

Our home is Armstrong Works - a site of engineering firsts on the River Tyne.
It’s where William George Armstrong began innovations that reshaped industry: the Armstrong Gun, Newcastle Swing Bridge, Cragside and Elswick Works.
The site later sparked breakthroughs in motor cars, armoured vehicles, tanks and locomotives. Over 8,000 WWII tanks were built here.
We acquired the 350,000 sq ft facility in 2024, committed to preserving its legacy while delivering innovative, lifesaving engineering to armed forces in 35+ countries. This poster is a nice reminder of our heritage.

It’s #BritishScienceWeek and we’re proud to support STEAM initiatives like On the Up (North-East) CIC.
Our team joined Year 5 pupils as they pitched tech powered reinventions of everyday items, and their creativity was incredible.
Highlights included Smart Spinning Spoons, the Smart Curler 3000, Sup ’n’ Sip, Smart Socks and Wigflow.
The challenge helped pupils think like young entrepreneurs -from problem solving and branding to advertising and pitching to judges from Pearson Engineering.
We’re privileged to champion programmes that inspire the next generation of innovators.

Yesterday a handful of our team joined the NECC’s Inspiring Women in Business #IWD event. The theme ‘Give to Gain’ included brilliant insights from speakers at New College Durham, Impact Family Services, and a thoughtful chair from St Cuthbert’s Hospice.
Key messages we’re taking forward:
- CSR is about giving and gaining.
- Safe, supportive workplaces matter.
-Women lifting women, with male allies, creates real impact.
- Growth means nothing without protecting people and values.
