It's dog days again for crypto, so I might as well explain my overarching crypto thesis again:

Crypto exists because it allows anyone to issue, trade, and provide liquidity for Public Assets. Public assets are things that trade in liquid, organic markets: equities, bonds, stablecoins, NFTs, memecoins, prediction markets, etc.

TradFi is filled with gatekeepers and 3rd parties that extract blood money from public asset issuance. It now takes 10+ years and billions in VC capital for private companies to go public via IPO. Try to make this process more efficient and you'll get hit with an SEC Enforcement Action (personal experience!)

So if there are easier ways to create public assets, the issuers will issue, the traders will trade, and the market makers will make.

Who's really losing here? Not the traders - they'll always be gambling on something - memecoins, options, sports, it doesn't matter as long as there's volatility. Definitely not the issuers and market makers who are cleaning up.

The real losers are legacy gatekeepers that no longer have a extractive monopoly on new asset creation.
