@damone_mike @mamboitaliano__ Yep. 👍 My brother was a lifeguard for over a decade just the next beach over. He had to pull dead bodies out of the water. That was an excellent job the kid did. But it’s deep water 15 feet out. Tons of jet skis that day. He was taking the quickest path to get back to his tower

@Vonvoghoul @GuntherEagleman Plenty. If you’re this intelligent about things, I’m sure you’ll be able to find a few. This beach is down the street from my house. I was there later that day and been spending 5-7 hrs/day down there recently. Rare weather and wave size combination. Female lifeguards everywhere

@Vonvoghoul @GuntherEagleman Not true at all. There are some amazing female lifeguards on the beach in Santa Cruz. That video was intense, but that type of thing happens multiple times a day during swell that big. And yeah, females often perform the rescues.

Possibly the 2nd time in my lifetime I’ve seen this in the summer. Winter is our big wave season. But we gotta do somethin

@blackademthicc @CBSNews That beach (Seabright) could have possibly been closed. Would have been really tough because it’s about a mile long. But there are countless other places where this happens and no lifeguard is present. Even very nearby (this is the beach next to the Boardwalk.)
