"Anyone trying to destroy Robbie Keane’s career because he coached in Israel isn’t standing up for human rights – they are practising pure, unadulterated bigotry dressed up as virtue."
Every last word of this column about Celtic is on point. Well said, Mr Pollard.
@HMcEntee The vast majority of Irish people aren't concerned with the war in Gaza started by the Islamofascist cult of Hamas. But it is refreshing that you know more about the situation than President Clinton does 👍

I’m glad I don’t have young children in school today because I’d be in constant conflict with institutions that are trying to convince children they can change their sex. Some of the material being put in front of children is deeply disturbing. Quite frankly, I think some of the people producing and promoting these ideas have disturbed views about childhood, biology and identity. Parents have every right to be angry and to challenge what their children are being taught.
Well done @CharlieFlanagan speaking out.
“Norma Foley can’t say she doesn’t know about fisting and rimming and more in school books,” said Flanagan, who retired from politics in 2024. “She does, because I told her personally.”
Remember, shortly after retiring in 2023, Flanagan also told The Irish Times, “I do find that the plurality of voices long evident in Leinster House are not as evident now. There is a dangerous intolerance of any view that is
not being pushed by vociferous, well-financed and well-funded non-government organisations.”
He raised the alarm about the power of the NGOs stating, "I have said to colleagues that I would have more influence on Government policy if I was a middle-ranking official with an NGO than I have as a government backbencher.”
So in this most recent scandal, I am inclined to believe Flanagan over Foley.
INVESTIGATION NEEDED
Respect to this teacher who was at the forefront of the 2023 Library campaign to remove sexual explicit and indoctrinating content from the child section at libraries. This photo was taken the day we did an assembly at Children's Books of Ireland where we called out CEO Elaina Ryan for the horrific contract on the Pride Reading List. A full investigation must be done and @KidsBooksIrel must be defunded.
🚨🚨URGENT: CHILDREN'S BOOKS OF IRELAND, LIBRARIES, AND SCHOOL BOOKS REQUIRE A FULL INVESTIGATION - LET'S NOT WAIT ANOTHER 3 YEARS.
In 2023, during our nationwide campaign to remove sexually explicit and ideologically driven books from children's library sections, we held a public assembly outside Children's Books of Ireland (CBI).
At the time, TDs, Government Ministers, RTÉ, the Ombudsman for Children, An Garda Síochána, and CBI were all made fully aware of our concerns regarding the presence of this material. Rather than engaging with the child safeguarding issues we raised, our concerns were dismissed. We were labelled "extremists," "far-right," and "thugs spreading hate against the LGBTQI community."
RTÉ also attempted to discredit me personally - and ignored the detailed child protection concerns I set out in my Right of Reply. (see comments- I read out their letter and my reply) The focus was placed on attacking those raising concerns rather than addressing the substance of the issues being highlighted.
We welcome Peadar's call for an investigation and believe it reflects the growing public concern surrounding this matter. However, serious questions must now be asked as to why urgent action was not taken when these concerns were raised during our nationwide campaign in 2023.
If an investigation is now deemed necessary, why were repeated warnings ignored for the past three years? Most importantly, how many children may have been exposed to harmful or age-inappropriate content during that time?
EXCLUSIVE: "I expect you to treat this with urgency" - In emails seen by Gript, Norma Foley was warned by a teacher about the book 'What's The T?' as far back as 2023 - though she continued to deny all knowledge to Gript this morning:

**Protect Irish Children From Harm 🇮🇪**
Norma Foley, Minister for Children, and Hildegarde Naughton, Minister for Education, face serious criticism for failing in their duties. They must urgently address the needs of at-risk children and families, or step down to prevent further harm from their inaction.
Taxpayers demand transparency on funds spent on rainbow flags, BelongTo events, and gender identity programmes. Providing Special Needs Assistants and essential support must take priority over ideological campaigns. Vulnerable children deserve practical help, not misplaced priorities.

Annoying that the minister cannot answer the question satisfactorily.
It's clear to me that both the state broadcaster and the department are promoting reading content that is unsuitable for children.

A good letter in today’s @IrishTimes on the double think of Irish soccer supporters and media who are campaigning to boycott a match against Israel but happy to attend a match against Qatar.
Spanish Flotilla members arriving in Bilbao airport were blocking the arrivals gate posing for photos and police tried to move them and they got violent. So police DRAGGED them out. This is who they are. They have cause chaos everywhere.
Official Ireland in 2026. A Hamas agent gets his college education fully paid for by the Irish taxpayer and gets his own speaking event at Maynooth University.
But a fundraiser for an Israeli ambulance charity is considered unacceptable and is cancelled.
