Introducing Pelé Rocket! 🚀🎬
A South Wales / West Midlands based film production company by @redpwade, that strives to create authentic stories and support under represented talent.
We absolutely loved screening A Glass House with @StirchleyCinema and what a gorgeous feature to be paired with 💙
P.S. we second the suggestions of Kung Fu Hustle and Dune 1984!
Lovely to see you all at our Friday Feature ALL WE IMAGINE AS LIGHT. We had so much fun that our projector overheated! Thanks to @PeleRocket for sharing #AGlassHouse with us and thank you Stirchley, for your suggestions on what to show next. Noted 😉

“Anglo-saxon for Shard End is ‘atte Sherd’ or ‘at the gap’ – a fitting name for the chasm Bham's bankruptcy has created in our community. Some councillors fought, but the cuts passed. With the only option now being Judicial Review, I long for my art to aid in the next steps.”

“My childhood library, a place of memories and fire. Narrowly escaping the full blaze of funding cuts, operating for only 28 hours a week is an unsustainable slow burn. I hope this moving collage ignites a passion in others to continue the fight for these vital community spaces.”
For the Love of the Library: Harborne by @redpwade

About making their films, Red told us:
“From masonic hall to free library, Harborne is rich in history and as tough as its nail makers. One of only four Birmingham libraries facing relocation, it needs our fight. I hope my art hammers home the message: our library stays.”
For the Love of the Library: Handsworth by @redpwade

About the making of their films, Red told us:
“Handsworth knows how to fight for its own. Now, we must. With its library hours slashed to a mere 28 a week, the community is being underserved. I hope this moving collage inspires others to rise up and demand a better Birmingham.”

"It's a gut punch of a film.... a stunning achievement audiences should seek out & one that says more in its running time than some films manage in 120 minutes" ★★★★½
