@IsaMaria47 @Nigel_Farage Membership numbers of a political party in the UK has little to do with propensity for power. The Labour Party had 600k members under Jeremy Corbyn but he was totally unelectable. It just demonstrates a hard core of activists willing to join.
@cathynewman@Channel4News That was an incredible interview. PJ Smyth’s testimony was honest, raw and heartfelt. @cathynewman, he clearly had trust in you and the team. A fascinating but hard watch.
@leeharris The last Govt kicked things like pay settlements into the long grass. They avoided the issue as they knew they were going to lose - to let Labour mop it up.
@ProfKarolSikora Per capita we still spend way less than US and also less than many European countries. I agree it’s a huge amount - but how little would you suggest we spend compared to our counterparts?
@realDonaldTrump It’s kind of bizarre that you criticise ‘socialist healthcare’ but under the US system people spend way more per capita than other nations with wider public health provision - but doesn’t make it any healthier. The private system you have is clearly massively inefficient.
@theonlypeterkay It’s his MO give even a small amount of credence to info that is completely unfounded to help cast doubt on anything he disagrees with. Dog whistler is about right.
@pearceyp78@Bertrom@mrjamesob Publoc service issues are partly Brexit - but only partly. Impacts of Covid and cost of living crisis have had a bigger hit on public finances and staffing. Govt has chosen cuts rather tax & borrowing. I was a remainer but going back into EU will not fix our problems.
@tomfgoodwin Imagine the Govt requiring that everyone get a health MOT every year and charged £50. Vote winner. Mind you if we had free car repairs we’d probably treat our cars like our bodies.
@ThierryAaron@GretaThunberg People say they want change but they’re simply unwilling to make the changes and sacrifices needed - in consumption, diet, energy use, taxes etc. Politicians know that.
