It took the media a month, give or take, to report on this murder.

25 June 2026 – Vanderbijlpark.

A young father gunned down in broad daylight, and South Africa just keeps the body count rolling, while desperately trying to hide it.

Marius Stander (35), the main breadwinner, loving husband and dad from SE1, got out of his vehicle on the way to work. That was all it took. Cold-blooded murder. Execution-style.

His pregnant wife Lizelle (19 weeks with their second child) and their 8-year-old daughter now have to face life without their protector. The family was tracking him on the Life 360 app. The last update came when he left midday. Then silence.

His body was dumped in the bushy Spider Valley area between Vanderbijlpark and Vereeniging. The police later found his vehicle in Sharpeville. Five suspects, teenagers and early 20's, ages 16 to 20, have been arrested and charged with murder. They appear in the Vereeniging court on 21 July for bail.

Lizelle is scheduled for a C-section on 13 December. She now stares at a future with two children, no husband, no second income, medical bills, rent, municipal accounts and daily survival crushing her.

This is the new South Africa; a 35-year-old father leaves home to provide for his family and never comes back. Five young killers get the usual revolving-door treatment while a pregnant woman and a little girl bury the man who was supposed to walk them through life.

Marius Stander wasn’t “just another crime statistic.”
He was a husband. A dad. A provider. A White man who dared to live and work in Gauteng.

How many more young fathers have to be slaughtered before this country admits the truth?
