@UrsaBearwalker "Specifically *your* problem... No, not you... No, you neither. Oh of course nor you. I lub you muchoes <3. [Points past others] YOUUUUU"
So, finally watched DnD: Honor amoung Theives last night. Good movie, lots of fun
I think I knew already, but was still surprised to see Themberchaud. Was more surprised I actually learned the lore incidentally before hand.
Was fully surprised that the chonker has a magic card X3
That way you can preview a bit of the Strahd elements, while giving the characters a 'seemingly' random adventure (granted, the players would already know, but you get the idea)
The bottom line is you have this creepy action that leads into a different world.

@XPtoLevel3 Maybe this was suggested before, but:
Yesterday I finally pulled out my Ravenloft 5e books and ended up coming across some of your vids. One of them suggested the idea of cutting out the Death House.
I was thinking: what if you kept it in as an alternate intro?

Instead of one of the four usual starts, this set up starts with the party led to this odd house. They do the whole dungeon deal and then escape.
But instead of being in the city/town they started, the step out on the road near Krezk (as per your suggested start)

@JetVulcan @BDaveWalters I forgot about him and I feel like that is a travesty.
Like, if someone wants to play some period accurate game, I'm sure they exist...
But Damn it, this is a game where spell components are basically jokes (carrot for dark vision and what not)
going through some old art and... found this pick from Oct 2016. I drew this and sent this to someone (I sorta forget who off the top of my head). But every time they use "Subterranean Tremors" they have this cutie to pull out. X3
