1/x The AI Buildout is reminding me a bit of what a major high capex commodity industry would look like if we had a fraction of the demand in existence.
I don’t think we have ever seen a capital race of this scale before. We have multiple trillion dollar companies spending like the world will end tomorrow if they don’t win this race
They don’t even know what the ROI might look like. They have no idea whether this is even a winner take all market, or not. They just know that they must spend. There is no alternative but to spend
They will obliterate every last dollar of free cash flow. They will take on whatever amount of debt is needed. They will stop every last cent of stock buybacks and dilute their shareholders to oblivion
It is all hands on deck to see who can build super intelligence the fastest. Cost discipline will get thrown out of the question. The amount of dollars that will flow around the economy just from these companies alone are mind boggling
In the process, many new trillion dollar companies are being created. Many new millionaires minted. Many fortunes being exchanged
Truly amazing to watch
A great example of how too much analysis can obscure simple truths.
The reality is that Israel has been on an existential war since October 7 and they are going to see it through.
If Bibi hadn’t been in power on 10/7 it still would have happened, and so would have war with Iran
We congratulate the PM of Armenia @NikolPashinyan and the Civil Contract Party on the victory in the Armenian parliamentary elections.
PM Pashinyan has demonstrated leadership by advancing his country towards peace and reconciliation with Azerbaijan, which will promote regional stability and cooperation.
@willthiel The Dem greatest hope to win the Senate is a guy with a Nazi tattoo and explicit Communist identification beating out a moderate Republican.
That’s gonna be a fat no for me.
I support Ukraine; but the modern Dem party isn’t on a path that deserves supporting.
I thought this was self evident.
It will be shortly.
Using AI to optimize a business or make easy to use apps for existing businesses is a great use case, but if the app itself is the draw, there’s no natural interest or market for a millionth vibe coded app.
This is the tough lesson that a lot of people are learning the hard way
AI might have made building apps a lot easier, but it also set the barrier to entry at zero
Because anyone can do it, there is no moat left
The only edge left in the future will be sales and marketing

There is a clear astroturfed campaign funded by bad actors that are seeking to constantly keep Israel in the news cycle.
It's objective is to facilitate a cycle of demonization with the goal of eventually trying to justify violence against the country at some point in the future by laying the psychological foundation for this today.
If you think it's normal for one issue to dominate headlines this long and at this volume, then you haven't been paying attention.
The people claiming they are anti-war are the ones facilitating this.
Not enough people understand how consequential this development is. The Quincy Institute is co-founded by Trita Parsi and Suzanne DiMaggio among other figures widely regarded as track-1.5/II (semi-official and unofficial diplomatic) channels for the Islamic Republic of Iran. The fact that Joe Kent, who served as director of the National Counterterrorism Center and quit over the launch of combat operations against Iran, is now writing for Quincy’s online magazine and platform Responsible Statecraft is significant.
This completes a pattern that appears to have begun in Kent’s personal life. His current wife, Heather Kaiser Kent, an Army veteran he married in 2023, has written for The Grayzone, the outlet founded and led by Max Blumenthal, where they have co-authored pieces. The Grayzone itself has ties to Iranian state media through its managing-chief editor, Wyatt Reed, who received payments from Press TV, Iran’s official English language state broadcaster and sanctioned subsidiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting Corporation.
Quincy and its contributors frame all of this as principled realism and restraint, opposing wars that they argue do not serve core U.S. interests. Critics view these overlapping personnel, marriages, and media ties as evidence of a cohesive ecosystem that effectively functions as (or lends legitimacy to) backchannel advocacy aligned with Tehran’s interests as part of its malign influence operations.
Ben Freeman, also writing for Quincy Institute, offered a similar piece distorting Sec 224 and lobbying to excise the section from the National Defense Authorization Act last week. This is Tehran’s agenda, not America’s. For a factual breakdown and the actual pp.40-44 text of Sec. 224 see: https://t.co/AXBmS2dx9L
🦔UC Berkeley's computer science department just posted its worst failure rates in years. 35.3% of CS 10 students got F's in spring 2026, up from under 10% in prior semesters. Professor Dan Garcia says the primary driver is a "vast increase in academic dishonesty" through LLMs. Students use AI to complete assignments, never learn the material, then fail exams. His office hours, once full, are now empty.
My Take
Companies are firing experienced engineers while the pipeline that produces new ones is being gutted by the same technology. Students use AI to bypass the hard part of learning, show up to exams without the understanding, and fail. One professor discovered a student's linear algebra class had an "open AI" policy for homework and exams. That student then couldn't do basic linear algebra in the next course.
Both ends of the workforce are eroding at the same time. Senior engineers are getting cut to fund AI spending. Junior engineers are graduating without the skills because AI did their coursework. And the companies spending trillions on these tools haven't connected those two facts yet.

All hell has broken loose at Putin's Economic Forum after Steven Seagal has reportedly eaten several members of the Chinese delegation.
Here, hurriedly waddling from the scene of the crime.
