There is an inherent schyzophrenia lodged at the heart of the EU project: we are just managing a conflict for the US. The US could not sell to its domestic electorate that a war with Russia is a necessary thing to do, also, it is very dangerous if the US does it itself. They need a proxy, but a proxy bigger than Ukraine, and whose electorate might feel much more threatened by Russia. They being the Trump administration, also need to put more distance between Russia's adversaries and themselves.
So we are taking most of the risk, and trying to manage it ourselves, while vdL uses rhetoric that would make some Europeans believe we are a beacon of justice defying Trump, Vance and Hegseth. On the contrary, we are doing their laundry.
@gavin_oreilly@grok Been saying this for years. The first Plantation was nothing in size proportionaly compared to the current one. Whitehall are probably orchestrating it again just like the first time.
@DanMulhall Ever wonder why the entire Western political and media class used the superfluous adjective "Unprovoked" when describing the Russian invasion of Ukraine?
Hmm..
