Permanent Mission of Hungary to the UN&WTO, Geneva
@PermanentM2025
Our principal task is to represent Hungary in the international organizations of Geneva and to stand for the interests of the country in different issues.
Our PR and DPR recently hosted a group of students from the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and one from the Ludovika University of Public Service Budapest. It's always a pleasure to share experience in multilateral diplomacy with future colleagues.
The protection of persecuted Christians and the defense of Christian values were in focus at our very successful side-event on the margins of the 61st session of @UN_HRC. Defending their fundamental right to freedom of religion or belief (#FoRB) remains our shared priority. 🙏
Amb. Zsófia Havasi met Tatiana Molcean, Executive Secretary of @UNECE to discuss the UN80 reforms and strategic priorities.
Hungary remains committed to a strong UNECE ready for the future! 🤝🌍
As the year draws to a close, a series of cultural and social events gave us the opportunity to present Hungary's cultural heritage and culinary masterpieces outside and within the walls of international organizations in Geneva.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Today, I had the pleasure of meeting with Ms. Zsófia Havasi (@HavasiZsofia),
Permanent Representative of the Republic of Hungary to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.
Our discussion was constructive and forward-looking, focusing on opportunities for cooperation in civil protection, disaster risk reduction, and other areas of mutual interest. In my capacity as Secretary-General of the ICDO, I expressed the Organization’s interest in strengthening engagement with Hungary within its framework and conveyed the possibility of Hungary’s future membership — a prospect that holds great promise for enhancing our collaboration.
We reaffirmed the importance of continued dialogue, mutual engagement, and international coordination to strengthen resilience and improve emergency response capacities.
