To our community,
Together, we built the operational foundation for individual data ownership.
It works. It’s validated.
Now we’re taking it where it matters most.
Families.
Meta just settled with U.S. states for up to $16.7B, over claims Facebook and Instagram were built to keep kids hooked and quietly collected data from kids under 13.
New teen limits: 2 hrs/day, no notifications midnight–6am or during school.

Anthropic is being sued, again, for allegedly training its AI on hundreds of songs it never had permission to use.
We built Permission on the opposite premise. Nothing trains on your data. Nothing gets sold. Ever.
The SEC's "Regulation Crypto Assets" proposal is exactly the kind of tailored rule making this industry has been asking for. It builds on the token taxonomy work Chair Atkins has been laying out all year, and it's a real step toward legitimacy.
Real rules mean real trust. That's the environment $ASK was built for.
Progress is happening, and we're glad to see it.

OpenAI's Head of Ethics, Safety Systems, and Mission Alignment have all left in a matter of weeks.
If AI's already living in your family's home, someone should be building it for your family...
AI needs Permission.
@anthonysanders We hear ya. Nothing got replaced. We're still building on what this community proved works. Legacy login is still live at https://t.co/knXZYrOOFB, and $ASK updates are coming down the pipe soon.
Big Tobacco had its reckoning. Now it’s Big Tech’s turn.
3,000+ lawsuits. New child safety laws. New rules for AI.
Accountability is catching up to Big Tech, and for families, that matters.

Definitely a win for families.
But with dozens of states and more than 1,000 school districts taking on Meta, this can’t just become another slap on the wrist...
🇺🇸 A New Mexico judge just ordered Meta to pay $942 million after finding the company exposed kids to harmful experiences on its platforms.
$375 million in penalties, and another $567 million into a fund meant to address the damage.
It’s the biggest hit Meta has taken yet over child safety, and a clear signal that courts are done treating these issues as simple “tech problems.”
Silicon Valley is watching, parents are watching, and Meta is appealing.

The verdicts are in.
Courts are calling social media's design negligent, deceptive, unconscionable.
Not one bad post. The endless scroll. The algorithm. Built to keep kids watching.
And no parent ever really agreed to any of it.

It looks like knowing what your kid is exposed to before it becomes a problem.
Not by reading their messages. By understanding the patterns.
That's what Permission does. Link below to try:

Toy Story 5 is the most accurate movie about modern parenting to date, but most people missed the point.
A thread for every parent who's ever felt one step behind their kid's screen. 👇
75% of kids ages 7-11 say they’d rather watch videos than play with toys.
Taking the screen away doesn't close the gap between you and your kid. Understanding what's on it does.
So what does that actually look like?
(Aura Digital Wellbeing Index, via NPR)
Meta and Google are partnering with child-focused institutions to promote “digital responsibility” for children.
While also building products designed to keep them on screens.
Your kids should be shaped by your values, not algorithms.
