@MikeKellyNHL The playoff used to get BETTER as there were fewer games per night. This format foments the opposite. It's also time to stop criticizing teams from strong divisions for first round exits. Not all losses are created equal.
@21mFrench@AvsSparky I think it's Makar and MacK together that need a complete refresh in they PP mindset. Not sure it's possible, but the default of the two of them passing back and forth on the perimeter for two minutes isn't going start working suddenly
31 teams know you can beat the #Avs in the playoffs with a neutral zone trap. LA and Minnesota's centers weren't good enough to win. Vegas' were. Analytics say Bednar's system should pan out. 4 years in a row now it hasn't. What's the definition of insanity again?
@puckempire TRUE if swept; great coach, but he's a bit too Pollyanna when it comes to tough moments. His teams have choked as soon as the road got tough for four playoffs in a row. It's an accountability issue, and his systems worked when his players were younger and much faster.
@chiefFarhad@MacRumors And are rewarded handsomely for doing so if they win; in this case I think it's particularly spurious, and class action lawsuits benefit lawyers above actual justice, hence my first comment. Sometimes it genuinely benefits consumers: Dieselgate comes to mind there
@chiefFarhad@MacRumors Bankrupting? punishing? Cui bono? The filing law firm at 25-35% of the settlement amount, so $62-87 mil. Anticipated payments per member: $25. Law firm gets huge reward, members get a tiny fraction of cost of a new phone they supposedly bought for ... new Siri features? come on
@citchmook Serious playoff vibes. Well coached game, hemmed the Stars in and disrupted breakouts. Problematic line changes (TMM penalties this and last, loose change led to Stars' goal). Nuke on top line = no bueno. Same Kadri/Nelson/Roy. Blender needs to stop; division title is in play
@AdoHernandez27 Avs management remembered his last contract holdout... his 9.5 million was waaaay more than the Avs wanted to pay him (and was more than he was worth at the time; the contract aged well, but they were offering 7.5 I think). Mikko was never going to sign before the last minute.
@gregnikolay@citchmook This 100%, if he was ever actually available at the number the Avs needed him to get to, the contract would have been done before the season. And the Draisaitl deal put dollar signs in Mikko's (and his agent's) eyes
