@davyay When I was a kid, it was a badge of honor to deliver the Guardian or any other newspaper to your neighborhood. I was proud to do it and it allowed me to get to know all our neighbours. Today, most people are like that’s cruel asking my child to work for nothing. Crazy.

@davyay I remember the day they decided to stop producing the Monday edition of the Guardian. It was another nail in the proverbial coffin if you asked me. The more they force their consumers to purchase their content online, the less relevant they become on this market.

@davyay I used to deliver the Guardian and the Evening Patriot when I was a kid and then sold the Eastern Graphic on Wednesday afternoons as well. It was how I could afford to pay for my lunch at school everyday in the cafeteria or go out to the Snack Bar aka MacDougall’s Diner for lunch

@davyay That means that the monthly subscription rate of $43.44, equates to an average of $2.15 or so per paper. The Weekend Subscription edition is about $3 now so that would bring the daily rate for the other four days to below $2.

@davyay There is only a Weekend edition on Saturday with no longer a Sunday paper, and as of about a year ago, Saltwire eliminated the Monday edition of the paper as it cost more to produce a paper for Mondays than what they could sell advertising to.

@davyay The day of door to door paper delivery is almost at an end. I live in the biggest apartment building in Montague & my husband and I are the only ones who subscribe to the Guardian out of approximately 40 tenants. And five months later, we are still the only subscribers. Sad
