I recently visited Omaha Beach and stood on it in absolute silence - other than listening to the peaceful morning waves lapping on a low tide - and thought of the thousand stories that unfolded in a few hours span, on that fateful day.

It’s a physical and emotional challenge to be there, with your feet on the sand that soaked up so much blood, and ponder the depth and breadth of what those young men did, and how they saved humanity.

And it’s especially sobering, knowing what we do today about the existential threat outside influences pose to the very way of life they died to preserve.

@Exner_Garrett , sir, you should have a million followers for no other reason except telling this story today, and honoring Ray.
