One more story,

In a high buy in poker tournament with a player who gave a $20 to the waiter and asked for $19 change. Slowly over the next hour, as he came to realize the waiter wasn't coming back, he lost his mind and all his chips.

He got mad,

He didn't respect the hustle.

I got to fulfill my dream of playing a game in Washington Park...and get hustled doing it!

He taught me that you can win games through deception as well as skill.

He taught me to look for asymmetries.

When I was a teenager I wanted to be a professional chess player.

Went to Washington park in NYC one spring and played an older gentleman for money.

Turns out his clock was rigged to his advantage.

My friends were outraged.

I just grinned and paid.

Some of the hardest working people in the world never get ahead because they

1) Don't have skin in the game.
2) Don't build systems

Hustle AND build wealth, by using your time to build systems that earn while you hustle on something you love.

Is NOT an excuse to ignore results.

It’s a call to focus on what’s in your control and let the results speak for themselves.

Milestones shouldn’t change your opinion of yourself too much.

Results feel great, it’s what we chase after.

It’s unlikely you are vastly different after a result than before it.

Chase results, but don’t fixate on them.

Focus on output.

Quantity will lead to quality.

You’ll get 3 good versions and learn a lot more in the process of doing something 100 times.

Your 101st version will come out much better than the perfectionists second version.

Forget good.
