Not sure about car crashes in Canada, but US also saw a huge drop in car-related fatalities due to lockdowns. So we took out a fairly major killer, and yet!

I'd really like to believe he's just insanely under-informed, not super high on brain processing power and wants so badly to be right that he's not doing due diligence rather than a deliberately malicious actor, but that might be a weakness.

I wrote a little python script that takes a bitmap and makes an SVG out of a bajillion <rect>s that can then be granularly animated via CSS, Greensock, etc. Not great for huge bitmaps, but works nicely on smaller logos and icons
