Did the magnitude of yesterday's storms catch a lot of folks off guard? I know the SPC only had a slight risk up, and we essentially ended up with a low end tornado outbreak and a derecho in the same day. Yesterday (43, at least 3 fatal and 5 injured) actually produced more tornadoes and casualties than the moderate risk last Wednesday (33, 6 injured) did.

Don't get me wrong, not blaming anyone as I know forecasting isn't easy. But, for most of last night, I kept asking myself why it was only a slight risk given how many tornadic storms were popping.
