Arix ♥️🔥

The Kurdish lament “Arix” was sung in memory of those who lost their lives in the devastating Erzincan earthquake of 1939, which struck during the night of December 26–27. The song is associated with the village of Arix (Sarun), in the İmranlı district of Sivas. It’s a Koçgiri Folk song.

Ah, those photos… I was so young! Only 21-22 years old, and I was very slim, with long, curly hair, characteristic nose and big eyes.

It was one of my very first concerts in Italy. 🇮🇹✨ Looking back at these photos brings back so many memories of those early days, when everything was new and I was just beginning my journey in opera.
