@alamadi_sam If it helps, I feel like "I'm sorry I made you feel that way" is a little bit better. But still not quite as good as a plain old sincere "I'm sorry." IMHO.
@smutwiizard @jamesjamjam1 True love is choosing each other every day, day after day, as you build something meaningful. The whiz-bang instant attraction is either lust or a misguided craving for attention (not that there's anything wrong with that).
@smutwiizard Mainly because smoking a cigarette doesn't impair your ability to get back to doing the job after the break. I don't think the same could be said for taking a "whiskey shots" break.
@kleigh_rose Yes, and not just of divorce, but the economic, emotional, psychological, and societal impact of single parenthood (whether it's by choice or circumstance) should be considered. All of which is to say, it's complicated. But not impossible to figure out and adapt for our times.
@kleigh_rose Institutions are only as useful as the needs they serve during their time. We've begun rethinking the usefulness of marriage in terms of sexual orientation. But to your point, it's time to rethink its usefulness in a broader context. Not to abolish it, but evolve it to better...
@savs420 Yeah, I meant when youโre the only non-white person in a group. It happens to my sister at her job all the time. I work remotely, so I donโt deal with that much, hah.
