👽🌱 The truth is out there: animals deserve to live free!

This World Vegan Day, go vegan for a kinder world. 💚

[PETA Asia @PETAAsia]

PETA went inside a puppy mill in the Philippines. What investigators found was disturbing. 💔

Behind the walls of this unlicensed kennel in Bulacan, PETA investigators found approximately 100 dogs confined for breeding. Wild animals, including monkeys, eagles, pythons, iguanas, and civet cats, were also being illegally confined in small cages, surrounded by the constant barking of dogs suffering from stress and isolation. Their lives were being exploited for profit. 😔🦅

The business has been operating without the required permit. PETA reported it to authorities, and it has now been ordered to shut down.

Never buy animals. Adopt, don’t shop.

@Carys_vegan @HERMES @Dior @LouisVuitton 100%. Always wear vegan!

PETA’s investigation into South African ostrich farms exposes the horrors of the ostrich feather trade—from painful live plucking to violent slaughter—and how the feather industry lies about the violence used to obtain them 💔

Dam Ngao died the way he lived: confined to concrete at Pata Zoo in Bangkok after more than 40 years in captivity, where he spent his days pacing back and forth instead of foraging, exploring, and roaming as bears naturally do. 😔💔

PETA is calling on the zoo to release the animals who remain to reputable sanctuaries before they, too, die in barren cages without ever knowing the freedom to simply live like the animals they are.

📧 Please join us in urging Pata Zoo’s director to accept PETA’s offer and send the remaining animals to reputable sanctuaries before it's too late: https://t.co/gIqJ3VswfO

@Pontifex Your Holiness, wishing you a speedy recovery and renewed strength. As the world prays for your health, please spare a thought for God's bulls, who suffer greatly at human hands in bullfights. Your voice could help bring an end to their suffering. 🙏🐂

🐾 Animals belong in emergency plans too!

PETA has written to Thailand’s Prime Minister, urging authorities to ensure people and their animal companions can evacuate and shelter together whenever possible 🐶🐱

🚨 “Helping animals evacuate is not a distraction from saving people—it is often an essential part of it.” When disaster strikes, people may refuse to leave without their beloved companions—putting both human and animal lives at risk.

The appeal follows PETA’s recent donation of more than a ton of food for dogs and cats affected by flooding around Bangkok. ❤️🐾

📍Cebu, Philippines - African swine fever is leading to mass culling operations across Cebu, with pigs often killed and buried en masse to contain outbreaks.

But these animals are victims long before disease strikes.

In his statement, PETA Asia President Jason Baker says:
“African swine fever is a death sentence for countless pigs in Cebu, but the real tragedy is that these sensitive, intelligent individuals were already condemned to lives of confinement and misery in the meat industry before the outbreak began. Whether they die from disease, mass culling, or at the slaughterhouse, pigs pay the price for a system that treats living, feeling beings as products. PETA urges everyone to help end this cycle of suffering by choosing delicious vegan foods and leaving pigs off their plates.”

Pigs don't want to be slaughtered.

The best way to help them is to go vegan.

👀 LOOK: New PETA billboard in the Philippines urges those worried about AI's environmental impact to also take a look at their plates.

Amid growing concern over data centers’ water and energy use, PETA's pointing out that meat, egg, and dairy industries guzzle far more water, spew more methane, and eat up more land than server farms do.

The projected annual water withdrawals from global AI demand in 2027 (up to 6.6 billion cubic meters) would be only about 1.2% of the water withdrawn by the global livestock industry each year (566 billion cubic meters).

Concerned about the future? Go vegan. 🌱

PETA's billboard campaign is headed to New Clark City, Tarlac next — the proposed site of the Philippines' Pax Silica AI hub.

After @PetaIndia helped rescue Madhuri from a temple where she endured decades of loneliness and suffering, she was transferred to Vantara, an Indian rehabilitation center, for the care and companionship she had long been denied.

Vantara is owned by Reliance.

Now, after a campaign for her return and boycott of Reliance products, she has been sent back to the same place that deprived her of both.

Madhuri has been betrayed. 💔🐘

The taxidermied body of Mali, the “world’s saddest elephant,” who died in 2023 after being kept in solitary captivity for nearly 50 years at the Manila Zoo, has been transferred to the National Museum, where her exhibit has just been unveiled.

“There are many things to celebrate about Manila, but Mali's confinement and death are not among them. Had the government not blocked her transfer, Mali could have lived out her days in a sanctuary, bonding with other elephants and getting the care she desperately needed.

Now, her preserved body at the National Museum will serve as a stark reminder that no elephant should be forced to suffer as she did. Confining animals to tiny, barren enclosures should be relegated to the history books, and PETA stands ready to shutter the Manila Zoo and move the surviving animals to a reputable facility. Until then, PETA urges everyone to honor Mali’s memory by avoiding the Manila Zoo and any other zoo as if more lives depended on it, because they do.”

- PETA Asia President Jason Baker

We share your hope for a better future for the DAK elephants, @maya_karin. PETA stands ready to help make that happen by fully arranging and funding their transfer to a reputable sanctuary.🍃🐘 Unfortunately, our offer has gone unanswered while the DAK elephants remain confined. 😢
