@BeeNetwork - can you help? Just checking that I’ll be ok to get home on the Bury tram after Lilly Allen plays at the Arena on Sat 20th June. It’s Parklife Weekend so Heaton Park tram stop will be closed but will trams be running from city centre to Bury as normal? Thanks.
@EFL_Comms According to Sky the on field Ref was told by VAR that it was a “careless challenge” while he was watching the monitor. So rather than make a decision himself, the on field Ref has become a mouthpiece for the actual Ref who is watching the game on TV at Stockly Park. #Farce
For the second week running the Sky commentator is saying that VAR is ‘telling’ the on field ref their opinion while the on field ref is watching the replay. How is this allowed? Shouldn’t the on field ref use the screens to rewatch the incident without influence?@DaleJohnsonBBC
What happened to interesting ice lollies? Newsagent’s freezers are just a sea of Magnums & Cornettos now. Honestly feel like pitching this to Radio 4 or Channel 5 as a documentary. @vernonkay@PaddyMcGuinness or @tonylivesey to front it. #IfwedontmakeitSkywill
@bevcraig@AndyBurnhamGM@patkarney Cheers Bev. It was @TibStreetTavern - they’d like to let people stand on Dorsey Street (which is a dead end) & drink outside but got told no unless they buy a special license in advance & how do you know if it’s gonna be sunny in a month’s time? Appreciate your interest.
I was chatting about informal outside drinking to a barman in the NQ recently. In short Manchester has horrendous red tape/licences/council regulations so they can’t do it, while in That London you just grab your glass & stand outside any pub. @AndyBurnhamGM@bevcraig@patkarney
@Ameer_Kotecha@AnthonyTeasdale I’m told that the ONS ‘shopping basket’ which is used to measure the official rate of inflation now uses supermarket loyalty card prices rather than shelf prices as the non clubcard price was artificially pushing up the UKs official rate of inflation.
@John_Stepek It gets better - the VAT on child’s cinema tickets is cut to 5%, but cinema chains like Odeon & The Vue don’t sell children’s tickets tickets! It’s one price per seat regardless of who sits in it. So how does that work?
I hate to mention but neither The Vue or Odeon cinema chains sell children’s tickets. You pay a set price per seat. Does anyone know how / if the VAT reduction will work for a set price cinema ticket purchased for a child? @DanNeidle@Steven_Swinford ?
@PintsBeauty@AnthonyTeasdale Behave soft lad, it’s marketing nonsense invented by the sales department at Stella Artois. It’s also a complete pain in the backside for bar staff on busy nights keeping all the different branded glasses clean. Bring back old fashioned pint pots & banish this fab to Room 101.
@TomBaldwin66 Personally I think the problem with vox pops is that they aren’t technically representative at all. As a junior radio reporter I was always told to ‘go out & get a range of views’ but that can give a minority opinion (that perhaps only 10% of the uk holds) a 33% share of air time
Quite possibly the most significant record of the last 50 years. This, Pavarotti & the England team’s performance created a perfect storm, brought football into the mainstream and laid the foundations for the Premier League. It fired the starting gun on the football revolution.

World In Motion was released on Factory Records. (FAC 293)
England's World Cup song for Italia '90 was New Order's only number one single in the UK charts.
I think it was @dannykellywords who brilliantly said : ‘just as we don’t speak of the crime that took place during the Blitz, no one will remember just how bad David Baddiel’s singing is on this record’
It’s 1:30am, you’re 16 years old in Images Nightclub in Dover surrounded by your mates. The lasers come on & the DJ drops this banger. Unforgettable times.
@fesshole Don’t get the hate here. When I tidy my kids soft toys I always make sure that the ones that are friends are sat next together. So they can have a chat with their mates obvs.
