🚨 THIS IS ABOUT TO BREAK THE INTERNET
Elon Musk just dropped the most insane Neuralink news yet:
“In the next 6 to 12 months we’re implanting the first vision chips. Even if you were born 100% blind, we’ll write straight to your visual cortex… and you’ll SEE.”
And that’s just the appetizer. Long term: ultra HD resolution + actual superpowers. You’ll see in infrared, ultraviolet, even radar. Literally like a superhero.
The future isn’t science fiction anymore.
It’s Neuralink.
And it’s right around the corner.
Steve Jobs described ChatGPT out loud in 1983, and 43 years later nobody remembers he did it.
June 1983, a tent in Aspen, several hundred designers mostly born before the computer existed, and a 28-year-old on stage.
He opens by telling the room computers are stupid.
Fetch a number, add 2 numbers, check if it’s bigger than 0, a million times a second that’s the whole magic trick.
Then he runs the math: 3 million machines shipping in 1983, 10 million by 1986, more computers than cars in America.
Then he talks about school.
A few great teachers, a lot of mediocre ones, and the thing that kept him out of jail was books Aristotle straight to the reader with nobody standing in between.
One problem with that.
“You can’t ask Aristotle a question”
He keeps going like it was a throwaway.
Television captures an experience, he says watch the JFK funeral from 1963 and you still cry 20 years later, while computer programming captures the principles under the experience, so no 2 runs are ever the same.
Then he says the thing.
If the next Aristotle carries one of these machines his whole life and types all of it in, then after he’s dead you ask the machine what he would have said, and maybe you get the wrong answer, maybe you don’t.
He gave it 50 to 100 years.
The product behind him that day was Lisa $10,000, size of a bread box, 30 fonts on screen, shipped and then dead.
The idea he buried mid-talk took 43.
He wasn’t predicting the machine, he was ordering it.
