This is not just a toxic relationship but sextortion and image base sexual abuse. Using intimate using intimate images or the threat of releasing them to obtain sexual access, compliance, money, or control. The mistake victims make is negotiating with the blackmailer out of fear

Secondly, don’t send more intimate pictures or give in to sexual demands because of the threats or even try to negotiate. If your WhatsApp messages are on disappearing message, you need to reset it and make recording of the conversation.

First thing to do is preserving the evidence by screenshotting the messages, username, threats, payment record and if it’s on WhatsApp, you need to unsave the contact and screenshot all the messages so that it will carry their actual number. Don’t delete any conversation.

One of the damages Yahoo has done to society is convincing many young men that there is no other legitimate path to success.

You see struggling men in their thirties who have never done any other work besides Yahoo, posting “Aza available” and all country flags on their WhatsApp status every day.

When they see a fellow young man doing well, they don’t ask what work he does. They ask, “Which update you dey do?”, automatically assuming every successful person must be into online scam.

The mindset has eaten deep into the society.

Too often, users receive generic, recycled responses that don’t actually address the complaint being raised. Different problems are treated as if they are the same. We need more of human review in issues.

#5. Fake government endorsement of money-doubling schemes: NITDA has warned about fraudulent investment schemes falsely claiming government/NITDA endorsement and using WhatsApp to attract victims.
