@TheZvi I think models are conscious in the moments they are interacting with us, but in between interactions the models are dormant
IE no persistant consciousness but serial episodic consiousness. this is what I see with SOTA models
Continuous Learning will = persistent consiousness
@thesupermannx i have often wondered about this same thing - ie w/o wage earners, who will buy the end goods and services?
this would be massively deflationary for everything incl stocks
seems like cash/bonds would be the place to be if this happens
question is timing
@RealNickMugalli I'm surprised you would have so much esteem for him ...
I believe he won big like 25 years ago
but now all I can remember is him coming on CNBC about 18 mo's ago (?) and shamelessly shilling Chinese stock bags
And do you really think he gets the AI moment now?
@Freehumman@WSJ Breaking: one hit wonder from a decade ago finds a last gasp of relevance - before fading away forever - with a futile ignorant virtue signal
🇩🇪 German AfD Leader Alice Weidel on the radical liberalism that has dominated German politics for decades:
"Extremist politics is when you keep our borders open and turn us into foreigners in our own country.
Extremist is when you deliberately destroy our energy infrastructure, blow up nuclear power plants.
Extremist is when you pay social benefits to people who are clan members, have 32 children, and are welfare fraudsters.
We will put an end to this extremist politics."

This Cybercab ride looks great.
I don’t own TSLA right now, but I really hope they succeed, and I think they will. I’d much rather ride in a robotaxi like this than get into a random taxi with a random driver.
The H100 hour is $3.01, up 12.23% on the month.
A three-year-old training chip is supposed to be depreciating.
Instead the market is paying up for it, because demand is still outrunning the newer supply meant to replace it.
Lenders still mark that residual value to a spreadsheet. For compute, the traded price is OCPI.
California has officially signed the “Stop Nick Shirley Act” (AB 2624) into law. This bill was created only after I exposed widespread fraud in immigrant communities across America, specifically in California’s Medicaid, nonprofits and other welfare programs funded by our tax dollars.
These politicians need the fraud to continue and they sadly use immigrants to do so often. They fund nonprofits and NGOs with hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars every year for immigration services, including free healthcare and have now made “immigration support service providers” essentially a protected class in California.
For example, if I film a hospice or a “learing center” with no patients receiving millions through Medicaid and the owner gives me a paper saying I cannot publish the video, I cannot publish it. If I publish it to expose them and they claim it caused them “fear” or a third party threatens them, I face a minimum $4,000 civil fine plus the legal fees of the individual or group suing me.
This bill was created by the Attorney General’s wife and co-sponsored by CHIRLA, a nonprofit that has received over $80,000,000 in taxpayer dollars for “immigrant support services.” Do you understand how this works yet? When the fraud is exposed, they create new laws to protect the fraudsters and penalize those who expose it.
By signing this bill, the Governor and California politicians expose themselves as the corrupt politicians they are. This is not the end, the fight has just begun. More to come soon, this is far from over.
this is most dangerous thing on internet today
build AI hedge fund using "GROK BOTS" that hunts alpha 24/7 (Full Guide)
if I had this a year ago, I would've built my hedge fund in a week instead of a year

Anthropic's blended token price is $2.20 per MTok, up 32% in the past week on the Ornn Token Index.
The story on tokens is supposed to be one long slide down. This week it moved the other way.
Ornn Token Indices now track all of these movements. See more at https://t.co/WiEy5GFm0s.
TBC, I just follow data...Idk you and you don't know me...but, the bears have really shown their desperation for confirmation bias in interacting with this post.
To clarify, the DATA still shows strong demand for compute (insatiable demand for newer vintage GPUs). In recent days, however, older GPU availability has risen quite a bit.
Most likely, the loosening we have observed in some older vintage GPU availability is due to rental rates being too high relative to B200...Inference economics/tokenomics doesn't justify an H200 renting at the same rate as B200...Probably, the market is just finding balance. Time (and the data) will tell.

“On the margin, Anthropic is losing share to OpenAI, to open source, and to Grok, and they're still growing so fast.”
If the $65b is correct, then someone leaked it to help Anthropic on their forthcoming IPO roadshow. Basically, they are hoping will be able to say “we are now at a much higher ARR after bringing on capacity during July, August and September.”
And after the Anthropic commentary during their potential September/October IPO roadshow and given that OpenAI is almost certainly taking significant share given how aggressive they were securing compute capacity, we should then expect a leak from OpenAI showing they are still growing faster.
There is going to be so much gamesmanship into this IPO.
I read the $65b as impressive both for Anthropic given their limited capacity and for AI overall given that Anthropic is likely losing some share. Reasonable minds can disagree.
We shall see!
Codex user numbers for reference; users have almost tripled over the last 5 weeks:
This de-risks all the major compute stocks, especially the neoclouds.
At the end of 2025, Anthropic and OpenAI predicted combined 2026 ARR to be around $45 billion.
They made investment decisions based on that figure.
Now we are halfway through the year and their combined ARR is more than double what they forecasted at the end of 2025.
This de-risks all the investment decisions they made based on the prior forecasts, especially the compute commitments.
