I welcome such constructive criticisms; it will make our leadership better, adaptive and responsive. When @AishaYesufu and @firstladyship criticises me publicly, I know they both mean well for me and for Nigeria. I know I have them in my corner. Salute! -PO
I have noticed that some who have questioned or constructively criticised my actions or pronouncements are also being criticised for speaking up. The new Nigeria we seek, is one in which citizens can criticise and hold leaders accountable.
APC in Lagos is overrated. It's apathy that has kept them in power.
At the 2019 elections, despite being the state with the most PVC holders, only 18% of them came out to vote. Lowest percentage turnout in Nigeria.
If there is no apathy in Lagos, APC's 'control' fades.
If Lagosians come out in numbers, how many votes you wan buy? How many thugs you wan send? They are threatening now only because they don't want Lagosians to even think about coming out to vote. The moment you realize that they count on your apathy, you turn tables.
Lagos is a young and very very very mixed population. Lagos can make a massive statement if the electorate actually just decide to come out and vote. The supposed "control" these folks claim to have is no match for a united Lagos and politically active Lagos.
The #EndSARS generation of young Nigerians protested for an end to corruption and police brutality. Now they are putting their hope in Peter Obi to upend the country's presidential election. https://t.co/3OAG8mZMid
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), young Nigerians aged between 18-35 make up the highest number of completed registrations, with over 6 million registrations recorded so far. https://t.co/BsNHtY7vWZ
