@snowycats Both Howard and Kennett only appeal to people living in the past. Hardly anyone under 40 would even know who they are. Relics like dinosaurs.
@KosSamaras More tax on wealth can’t come soon enough since a great deal of wealth has come from very generous tax concessions, so giving back some of that helps level a lop sided tax system.
@philmupp1 NewsCorp will have a sook, then they will double down and start all over again. In their delusional world the Murdochracy thinks they have to save Western civilisation from all the hordes.
@3AWNeilMitchell@rebaillieu Amelia Hamer obviously hasn’t taken on what Rupert Hamer stood for. A true liberal in every sense, unlike the right wing Conservative Party it has become and in your world today Neil he would be labeled “ woke”.
@hughriminton@australian The figures presented by Newspoll are correct but the editors at The American will do all sorts of word and graphic gymnastics to spread disinformation.
@AaronDodd@Costco I understand your sentiment and what you have done. In Australia the staff on the floor are Australians, many if not most goods sold are not made in America. Profits go to America but Australians will lose their jobs and goods not made in America will become more expensive.
@PaulBongiorno Putin is a nationalist, just like the far right in America. Trump and his MAGA together with Putin are cut from the same cloth. Right wing authoritarianism.
@EVERALDATLARGE@ConversationEDU Since the WW2, the only prime ministers who had the spine to try and free us and become independent were Whitlam and Keating. Australia could be the Switzerland of Asia in control of its affairs but for our spineless politicians.
@KosSamaras The liberals and nationals only really get on as a coalition since it’s easier to win so they can be in power. Labour and the greens are more interested in magnifying their differences rather than working together.
