Hey, @Sony@PlayStation
Our customers have not stopped voicing their concerns to us, about your choice to end physical media on the PlayStation platform.
Millions of people are outraged by your decisions, millions who have contributed to PlayStation’s success for over 30 years. You may have shattered trust beyond repair for many, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to fix your wrongdoings.
This is nothing more than a greedy move, being made to have more control over the consumer. Is that really what Play is about?
GOG planta cara a PlayStation y Steam frente al futuro digital: 'No deberías necesitar el permiso de una tienda para jugar los juegos que has comprado'

"You don't need a storefront's permission to play what you bought."
Faith in the preservation of digital media has been shattered in recent weeks, but GOG has at least helped restore some of it.
GOG still offers DRM-free games you can permanently save — and even burn them to a disc, if you want to.

The biggest problem with digital gaming isn’t graphics, performance, or pricing…
It’s ownership.
GOG letting players download offline installers is a reminder that when you buy a game, it should stay yours.
We already are saving videogames.
By giving @GOGcom our money instead of Sony Playstation.
GOG lets us burn our games on discs after we buy it so we can keep it forever.
GOG is for us gamers.
GOG and Steam will save videogames.
Instead of crying out to the crowd of insufferables, lets take our money elsewhere and let Sony Playstation die.
They chose their path.
It was the wrong one.
They didn't want to listen.
So now they will learn.
They will fall.
I just called @sony at 1-800-345-7669 (from the US).
I dropped the following message for their customer service team:
"Hello my name is REDACTED. My account name is REDACTED, My email is REDACTED.
I am calling you today to express how disappointed I am regarding the recent decision by Sony to discontinue production of game discs in January of 2028.
I am a lifelong Playstation supporter. I have purchased every iteration of Playstation since day one, including the PSP and PS Vita, but I can no longer support you as a customer because of the unconscionable decision of your executives to strip me of physical game ownership rights.
I will be boycotting Sony and Playstation until this decision is reversed.
No Spider-Man.
No Wolverine.
No GTA VI.
No PS Plus.
No Crunchyroll.
No new digital purchases.
And there are hundreds of thousands just like me.
Thank you for your time."
I encourage you to do the same.

If you paid for it, it's yours. One way or another.
Either Sony makes games easily accessible, lets people buy them, and gets a cut of the money...
Or people will still find a way to play them, and Sony won't see a single dime.
All they're doing is shooting themselves in the foot over and over again.
Gamers need to abandon the “loyalty” mentality towards corporations🚀
This is a business.
Their only measure of value is money.
They don’t care about you.
They aren’t your friends.
They won’t give you anything when you pretend to like and agree with everything they do
In fact, it only reinforces hubris, and lack of accountability.
Focus on your self-interest, not your “dedication” to those who only see their own self-interest.
Gaming fell off when you started to have parasocial relations with corporations

GOG encouraged users to utilize its offline installer to save games onto discs for physical copies. While that doesn't necessarily mean that they'll always remain playable in the future, it's still a helpful option amid an increasingly digital-only world.
