I assume that everyone is operating in good faith. I'm often wrong, but I believe it is better to give people the benefit of the doubt than to assume that everyone is a malevolent actor pursuing some ulterior motive.
@anymanfitness There are, what, 600 NBA players at any given time? They are *all* special. The guy riding the bench is special. He’s better than ~7 billion other people on earth.
@sisboombahbah @HistoryBoomer@KonstantinKisin Jordan Peterson is another one on the right. I think it’s a combination. You see dollar signs, and maybe you even think you can bring people around. *You* won’t change. But then you spend time with different people, surround yourself with different ideas, etc.
@DavidGewirtz Hey man, I just read an article about upgrading to an M1 Mac Studio you wrote. I need to upgrade sometime soonish to an Apple Silicone Mac for music production—any chance you’d be willing to talk to me about what I really need for ~15 minutes? Happy to pay.
@AnarchoXP Repeat after me: “I am invoking my right to remain silent” (if you say this and they keep asking you questions, that’ll create problems for them, but you have to affirmatively invoke it) “and I want to speak to an attorney.” Say nothing other than that.
@Deppeken@SpencerKlavan Yes. And they’re awesome. Need a little extra space after lunch? Let her out a click or two. Need to do something athletic and discover your pants are a touch loose? Tighten her up a click or two.
@GrahamMica59174 @Cluffalo Find a married woman in your church who you like—~10 years older, preferably—and ask if you can spent time with them. Volunteer to help her with household chores or take the kids to the park. Ask to join for game night. Ask to be let into her life so you can see the relationship.
@Cluffalo The goal should be marriage, but the first few dates should be about getting to know another wonderful human being made in the image of God to find out if marriage is a possibility.
@johnandrewwords The people wield great power. They are permitted to choose any particular felon if they like, even if they choose not to permit every felon to vote.
@Devon_Eriksen_ I don’t like Trump. I will not vote for Trump. I think he is morally (and probably legally in other instances) unfit for office. And all of the above remains correct. The NY charges aren’t entirely BS, but they were only brought because Trump is Trump. That is wrong.
Life advice: don’t seek validation online. It’ll just hurt you more. Even if you get the validation you want (and you probably won’t), it won’t be real. It will feel hollow because it will be based on a curated version of yourself. Get real friends who really love the real you.
