@samstejskal So tiring. Pound for pound, we're just not there. Could we have played harder? Got stuck in (parked the bus), sure, but then we're back to what we always were. If we want to be a perennial, quarterfinal team, we need more talent. Simple.
@TaylorTwellman@MLS Not a pro/rel truther but I do think that "oh shit we might relegated" type of pressure would help the MLS teams. Mexico hasn't had pro/rel for a while either but the cultural pressure remains. The American culture and current MLS setup doesn't just provide enough of that
@pkedit Why isn’t the system more regionalized, with less overlapping youth setups? What’s stopping us from creating a single entity where everyone is tracking the same talent pool, elevating players when needed, and working together to ensure top players don’t "slip through the cracks"?
@pkedit I got into soccer heavily around the 06 World Cup and kinda expected the U.S. youth system (territories, scouting, and coordination) to be further along by now. I don’t follow it as closely these days (kids), so I could be way off, but it still seems overly fragmented.
