Closed 2020 for pandemic lockdown; no plans to reopen. I wish you the best as you grieve and hope you find the support you're looking for. Love never dies.
@EugWklyCamilla@taylor_perse As one of the area professionals who have helped numerous people through their animal companions' last months, weeks, and days, as well as with their grief, I'm very glad to learn someone felt comfortable showing their love for their cat after its death.
(Closed b/c pandemic.)
Today would've been another anniversary of moving into a beautiful office, but I had to close my "non-essential" business when the pandemic hit.
Today I'm grieving the non-human losses we've all suffered this past year.
(I've grieved the human losses every day.)
In a DM: "What can I do to take this sorrow away?"
When beloved companion animals die, we grieve because we love them and miss them. Our sorrow is normal.
Feel it. If you need to, set times aside to do so then pack it away for the day. But don't avoid it – that causes problems.
Here's a bit of hopeful news for #wildfire#evacuees in Oregon:
There's still plenty of room for livestock *and* companion #animals in various #sheltering situations.
Please pass the word to those who've had to or may have to evacuate.

@BabyBear6277 You're welcome, Cassie. I'm glad you found it helpful.
You'd be surprised how deeply people grieve pets. They just don't talk about it, so friends/family don't know.
Maybe your vet can point you to someone who can help you face the pain?
Please be good to yourself.

If you're in introvert and/or a Highly Sensitive Person, the death of an animal companion can hit you harder than other people.
Here's an article that speaks directly to you.
(The hotline mentioned is apparently no longer in service, from what I can tell by following the link.)

Stephen King's "Pet Sematary" is the only reason I knew pet cemeteries existed. I'd never seen one in person...until a geocache brought me to one.
It feels like a forgotten place, with the owners of these pets likely long passed on, too. But you can sense the love they shared.
To be human in a pandemic – A thread
Over the past 48 hours I heard from numerous clients, colleagues, and friends sharing similar messages of fatigue, stress, and burnout. “You don’t need to respond Sarah, I just need to share this…” is how many of those messages started. 1/
h*ck it, thread of black-owned dog businesses that deserve a fat slice of that $100 billion we’re estimated to spend on our pets this year...

Our personal losses and griefs are as important as the ones we see on the news. Bearing them at the same time can be excruciating.
What an infectious grin Wilshire shared with the world, Josh! I'll include him and you in tonight's candle lighting at 6pm.

The results of some experimental infection and transmission studies of SARS-CoV-2 in animals has been widely publicized. However, we emphasize caution in not overinterpreting the results. You can find more information at our updated webpage: https://t.co/WEQimbbi50
I don't know a thing about this new book, but the subtitle hit me right in the feels.
