Where happened to the call "all hostages must return home"? Why is Israel - who has no legal authority in Gaza, West Bank and East Jerusalem according to the highest world's court - continues to hold captive thousands of Palestinians, mostly without even charge or trial?

For thousands of years, babies slept with their mothers. When they cried, they were attended to. Then two men came along: Dr. Holt and John B. Watson. They said babies should be trained. That babies had to fit the assembly line schedules of their parents. "Newborns must cry to expand their lungs," they claimed. "Simply let them cry it out." And that's how the "cry it out" sleep training method was born. Watson treated babies like experiments. "Never hug or kiss your child," he wrote. "Shake hands with them in the morning." After all, mothers needed rest, to attend to their husbands and households. Watson had four children. Three attempted suicide. One succeeded. And we still follow it today. Because once you convince a mother to ignore her baby's cries, you've broken something primal.

“Can I bring my baby to the interview?”

The message came in at 11 PM:

“Hi, I have an interview with you tomorrow at 2 PM. My childcare fell through. Can I bring my 8-month-old? I understand if you need to reschedule.”

Old me would have rescheduled.
Unprofessional. Distraction. Red flag.

New me replied:
“Absolutely. See you tomorrow.”

She showed up with her baby on her hip.
She apologized three times before even sitting down.

Ten minutes in, the baby started crying.
She tried to soothe him while answering questions.
She apologized again.

I stopped the interview and said:

“Hey. You’re managing a fussy baby, answering complex questions, and staying calm under pressure. That’s literally the job. Handling chaos while staying professional. You’re already proving you can do it.”

Her eyes filled with tears.

We hired her.

She’s been with us for a year now.
The most reliable team member we have.

Why?

@SabrS4br Meerdaagse kaart voor de vaporetto. Ideaal. Murano was leuk. De markt (heen lopen, terug met de boot), Leonardo da Vinci museum voor 1 a 2 uur, de boekhandel Libreria Aqua Alta om gezien te hebben. Vooral ook lekker lopen en dwalen en ijs eten.

@MrsKrass @Leonline007 Mocht je willen, heb ik ook gegevens voor je van iemand die electro acupunctuur doet. Mijn dochter is ook 2,5 jaar lang veel ziek geweest, maar per saldo gaat het nu een stuk beter en lijkt dit bijgedragen te hebben aan het herstel. Veel sterkte. De machteloosheid is zwaar.
