People underestimate this.
The British monarchy is one of the most powerful soft power assets in the world.
When King Charles III speaks on a global stage, he does so above party politics, with history, culture and credibility behind him.
You can’t manufacture that. You can’t elect it. And you certainly can’t replace it.
That’s why it’s respected worldwide.
Morning Happy St Georges Day despite all the negative issues going on in our country I still love this country. I have travelled the World and yes for a quick fix there are some amazing and far better places. But to live, rain snow & sun and more important the people you cannot beat good old England!
Now THIS is Great British Railways & proper Unionism. I LOVE the ambition by @CW_Architect, a raised high-speed railway, The Loop would connect Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool in 🏴, with Edinburgh & Glasgow in 🏴, Bangor in 🏴, Dublin in 🇮🇪, Belfast in Northern Ireland…
The lack of sequels to Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) still hurts. The world, the characters, the craft were built for a trilogy. One of the great modern epics that should’ve continued, but never got the chance.
That's now FOUR goalkeeper mistakes that have led to goals in the last 3 away games now for Pope. Surely Ramsdale HAS to start at Everton and the foreseeable?? Thing is it's the complete opposite. His position won't be even considered to be under threat.
It's getting to the point we need to score multiple goals away from home (which we've only done once this at union SG) as Pope Is going to cost us a goal.
Absolutely shocking start to the 2nd half. 2-1 OM

Height of embarrassment from Gabriel. Going down like that in your own box instead of being a man and defending it. Embarrassing and typical Arsenal. #NEWARS
Time for Alexander Isak to stop the game in the shadows and hand in a transfer request. He wants to leave Newcastle United, Liverpool want him, Newcastle deserve a proper price, £130m+, and time to find a replacement. Eddie Howe, a good manager, deserves a break from this distracting saga.
Impossible to see Isak playing for Newcastle again. Are the Saudis really going to stick an asset in the reserves? That would guarantee a cloud over the club all season and every one of Howe’s press conferences dominated by more Isak talk.
Players move, they’re not fans, loyalty is short term, it’s a short career, Isak is ambitious and Liverpool offer more chance of sporting glory. (And let’s not forget what’s happening to Brentford over Yoanne Wissa who looks bound for Newcastle).
But the situation is tacky, Isak is damaging his reputation, perhaps deliberately, so Newcastle accept he can never pull on that famous black-and-white shirt again. He has to go.
But Isak should remember how Newcastle and Howe improved him as a player. He should remember the support of the fans. Whatever he may or may not have been promised in the past, Isak should show Newcastle some respect by ending this distracting game of poker behind the scenes with a formal transfer request.
St James’ Park on August 25 should be lively: Newcastle v Liverpool. Lively on the pitch, in the stands and in the boardroom. #NUFC #LFC
If you’re a Newcastle fan feeling frustrated at fans of other clubs gloating over the Isak situation. ( I’m seeing a lot on my timeline). think of it like this, if #nufc weren’t becoming a genuine threat to the elite, no one would care. Take it as a compliment.
