We’re pleased to announce that our department name and social media pages have officially changed from Foundation Studies to Preparation for Adulthood
This new name better reflects the purpose of our department and the incredible work we do in supporting learners to develop the skills, confidence, independence, and experiences they need for adult life 🌟

In a format inspired by An Audience With, students took the lead, asking Bill their own questions and finding out more about his role, experiences and life outside of work. The session sparked some great conversations, plenty of curiosity and lots of smiles along the way.☺️
A huge thank you to the team at Hamara for delivering this session and supporting our students in developing their knowledge, understanding and awareness of health and wellbeing. 💜
This experience linked closely to their health pathway focus this term, providing a valuable opportunity to learn more about the importance of healthy lifestyle choices and how they can positively impact overall wellbeing. 💪
What an amazing experience for our pan-disability football team at St George’s Park! ⚽ They gave it their all, showed incredible teamwork, and came home with the Fair Play Award 🏆 Everyone at Foundation Studies are so proud of their achievements! 💜
Our students have recently completed their Duke of Edinburgh's Bronze Award Residential’s at Bramhope Scout and Activity Centre and Nell Bank Outdoor Education Centre and what an amazing experience it was for everyone involved! 🎉
A huge thank you to all the employers who joined us for our Skills Day themed Careers Carousel at Foundation Studies 🙌
Students had the opportunity to meet industry professionals, ask questions, explore career pathways and build confidence towards developing their skills 👷👩🍳👨🏫
We were proud to welcome employers including First Bus, Kier Construction, NEXT, ASDA and Cox Automotive, who all came together to inspire and support our students throughout the day 🌟
Students had a fantastic time at Farmer Copley’s Tulip Festival. They really enjoyed picking their own tulips and making the most of the season. It was great to see them all so engaged and happy! 🌷💐☀️
