🎉 We are 40 this year!
Our story began in the Ethiopian famine of 1984–85 💔🌍 where Colin Battell and @JeCCDO opened homes across #Ethiopia for 1,000 children orphaned by war & famine.
From those first steps in 1986 📸 grew 40 years of compassion, resilience & change. ✨🌱

Social Change Makers in action 🌍 Saeda raised her kids and 4 others. Including a girl called Samira, thrown out when her father remarried, & Habsa, whose father became ill. With training and a loan she built a grain business 💡Now she even cares for 2 more children !🌱

Our Social Change Makers' approach empowers people to shape their own future. 💛 Fayo, once living in a derelict hut, now runs a coffee stall ☕ and rebuilt her home with her community. 🌍✨

In Negedde Woitto, households met twice a month to share ideas. Now 150 communities across Ethiopia are transforming lives the same way!

It's #InternationalNetworkingWeek, lets celebrate💙20 incredible women who formed the Ebenezer self-help group in Hawassa, Ethiopia. With our training in business, these women built a thriving business turning over 1,000,000 birr (£6,300) after started with only 10 birr! (6p).

🍽️ Every year, we run a Breakfast Club in Debre Birhan to give vulnerable children a nutritious start to their day. This year, we’re supporting Tibase M School 😍 With your help, we’ll provide daily breakfast for 90 kids & support their parents with income opportunities. 💜
