Net Zero is entering a new phase.
After giving Britain the highest industrial energy prices in the developed world, the same policy machine is now coming for food.
The Seventh Carbon Budget means lower meat and dairy consumption, fewer livestock and changes to land use.
Welcome to the gangster state. The government has jacked up the Channel Tunnel rateable value from £40m a year to £118m a year without providing any clear justification.
In response the Channel Tunnel is taking legal action and is refusing to invest anymore in Britain
Its CEO says that between business rates and corporate taxation, the Tunnel will now pay 69p on every new pound of revenue generated in the UK.
Business rates are basically being used as an extortion tool.
NET ZERO: "Leaves UK on 'precipice of industrial collapse'"
"Scathing report warns that high energy prices are increasingly the 'number one issue leading to factory closures and job losses'"
End this madness @UKLabour#NoToNetZero
🤣 er … a complete twatting (technical term) for the UK Government!
Even their own AI job assistant thinks software engineers should get a job in the US.
You could not make this shit up 🤡
So the ministers who haven’t seen the Defence Investment Plan thinks it’s great.
And
The ministers who have seen the Defence investment Plan thought it was so bad they resigned! https://t.co/rZTzJ5vt9W
For context:
£8BN is spent annually on benefits to non-Brits
£15BN is spent on net zero
Leaving Britain defenceless has been a political choice.
True to form, Starmer has lied about it, presenting himself to the world as a leader on defence.
The PM is a dangerous disgrace.
“Thousands of new jobs have been created in the green blob – environmental consultants, charities, lawyers, finance, education and governmental. But the true number of new green jobs, i.e. those which actually add value, has been vanishingly small.” Paul Homewood
Starmer/Reeves and supreme idiot Miliband are spending £22bn on crackpot schemes instead of defending us with a serious military budget.
We remove these clowns ASAP or we fail as a nation.
Labour’s Peter Kyle having a car crash interview.
Peter Kyle: The plan is great.
Naga Munchetty: Have you seen the plan?
Kyle: No.
We know who has seen the defence plan. John Healey and Al Carns, and they both resigned over it.
Labour are a mess. They can’t stop lying.
Hard power is downstream from productive force.
Net Zero is making Britain weaker. Ed Miliband’s renewables-led experiment is driving up total system costs and forcing British industry to carry some of the most expensive power prices in the developed world.
That damages our industrial base. It makes factories less competitive, deters investment and leaves us less able to produce the materials, fuels, equipment and food a serious country needs.
It also increases our strategic dependency. We are becoming more reliant on China for "green" energy supply chains, while the vandalisation of the North Sea and the closure of refineries such as Grangemouth in Scotland leaves us more dependent on imported fuels. Some of those imports are now linked, directly or indirectly, to Russian crude and funding Putin's war machine.
So this is not just an energy argument. It is a national security argument. Expensive power, lost industrial capacity and greater dependence on hostile or unstable supply chains weaken Britain’s ability to defend itself.
We hope @AlistairCarns - a son of Aberdeen, a man of principle and a former Royal Marine - has the courage to confront the Net Zero orthodoxy in his own party before it does further damage to Britain’s national security.
1066: King Harold could not defend the country from an invasion from France by small boats full of fit young aggressive men.
It was the Norman Conquest
2026: King Keir cannot defend the country......
