@t0nyyates Exactly. I’m sure Twitter is still only running (ish) due to the great work their previous SREs did to automate the day to day infrastructure issues (as any good SRE would). Over time this will slowly rot and then they won’t be able to recover the infrastructure.

@jmtd When I checked for my wife, it said there was no need to make v contributions as she had enough years already for full state pension. She missed a few years as we opted out of Child Benefit. I didn’t realise we could still get NIC with CB even if not eligible for the cash.

@jmtd There’s a government website that looks at your payment history and tells you if you can benefit from voluntary payments. Remind me some time if you are stuck and I can show you it.
