I’m excited to share that I am running for Congress in Texas’ 32nd District, here in the heart of Dallas where I live with my family. I’m an Air Force veteran, a trauma surgeon, & a gun safety advocate. Join our team today: https://t.co/5ebvEJebDS #DrBrianWilliamsforCongress 1/6
My son is a 7th grader at a DISD magnet school who eats, sleeps, and breathes baseball. Zoned for @EDWalkerWolves and WT White. Possible for him to join the @EDWAthletics baseball team?
@CPark_MD@EcmoNinja B, but with a laptop on it. Chief when I was an MS3 on surgery was D. The students had to find a specific computer in the lounge (didn’t have badge access!) and enter each patient’s data into one Excel spreadsheet before rounds. D = 1 printed sheet of paper. 🫠
Dr Arnoldo is a Parkland Legend and we are 1,000x better humans because of him.
Hope you all have someone in your life who helps remind you about your humanity and empathy. And that you are not just a surgeon, not just your job title.
@CPark_MD Amen, sister. Second only to Christmas in my book. The interns are so bright and shiny and eager, and the possibilities feel limitless. Never fails to remind me of the parts I love most about my job.
Today is my second favorite day of the year. First is Christmas. And second is July 1 - my Christmas in July! Every single intern I encountered today reminded me why I went into medicine @UTSWInternalMed and @UTSWPalliative!
It's incredible how a 1-week social-media elective ( led by @ctsinclair) during my #hapc fellowship has helped create the #TxConsortiumHPM. Today, I am extremely honored to be invited back to Kansas City (virtually) to share our work! Can't wait to see some old faces! #kcspm
- Furthermore, the decision they will make doesn't matter. Whether or not we should have a family meeting depends on whether they see what we see. If there is a discrepancy, we should talk.
Only that matters.

"Patient (or family) will not be ready yet."
Sometimes, I hear this when I propose to have a family meeting.
I disagree for 3 reasons.
- Nobody will be ready.
- They will not be ready because we don't tell them what's going on.

Dang. I just got off a call with a bunch of doctors.
My heart is broken. The level of moral injury, burnout, desperation. I don't know how else to get the general public to understand; we are watching the slow demise of American healthcare; this won't end when COVID is "over".
