Very good read Yahoo Sports with World Pool parallels here:
"Kentucky Derby 2026: How algorithms are changing horse betting ... and outraging gamblers in the process"
“The best players are getting to have the best technology and the biggest rebates"
The thoroughbred industry is rallying behind our independent daily information services (TTR, ANZ news and The Straight) and their treatment by RNSW. Show your support.
Our Attunga family is passionate about our industry and we re-affirm the findings and recommendations of the parliamentary inquiry into the proposed sale of Rosehill.
Therefore, we strongly support the Hazzard inquiry into the review of the racing Act. For more information go to https://t.co/Rv7qrJiuQV and join the campaign.
With Tim Hale as Chairman and Caroline Searcy stepping in as Vice Chair, there’s hope this marks the beginning of a fresh chapter for racing in NSW.
While Racing NSW remains the ultimate overseer of the industry, the ATC still has a key role to play, particularly in identifying core issues and doing what it can to support participants at every level.
There’s no shortage of passion in the game, but there is a growing sense of burnout. The schedule is flooded, the product is diluted, and the people who keep the show on the road are under pressure. Anything that can be done to ease that pressure and build for the long term has real value.
The focus shouldn’t be on chasing headline prizemoney. What the industry truly needs is a higher demand on professionalism, sustainability, smarter scheduling, and a renewed energy that gets people engaged again, on and off the track.
Ultimately, everyone wants the same thing: a healthy, vibrant, and sustainable industry. That starts with better alignment between clubs and governing bodies, and a willingness to listen to the people on the ground.
It’s a tough road ahead, but leadership at club level can still make a real difference. Hopefully this is the first step toward restoring balance and momentum for the people who make this game what it is.
Congratulations to Hale / Searcy as the newly appointed Chair and Vice Chair of the ATC. For this to happen they were probably supported by McGrath and English, who should also be congratulated. Hopefully the outgoing chairman etc will get behind the new appointments, and support a new strategy going forward. Not sure about that!
Monday’s ATC Board vote is critical. Peter McGauran is backing Ben Bayot - his key ally in the failed Rosehill push. Electing Bayot risks reviving that agenda.
Members fought hard to protect the Club, the Board must choose leadership that now puts members and the Club first 🤝
ATC chairman has resigned but instigates a change of date (sounds familiar) to the election of his replacement and vice chairperson. Now scheduled for tomorrow and was originally planned for the following week. Strategic move? Or less time to avoid scrutiny?
@attungastud It’s time for the Board to end their ‘political’ allegiances and read the room. This is a member’s club and all directors should be putting the interest of the members first.
ATC Board re-structure set down for Monday 21st July.
One can only imagine the lobbying behind the scenes.
Who will be Chair?
McGrath ?
Hale ?
Bayot ?
Vice Chair will probably be dictated by who is elected as Chair.
If McGrath…….. English ?
If Hale ……….English or Searcy?
If Bayot………????? Probably not English, Hale or Searcy due to their opposition to the sale of Rosehill, and Bayot’s continued support of the outgoing Mcgauren.

Respected breeder Brian Nutt says:
“In January 2024 I asked a senior racing journalist from The Sydney Morning Herald ‘are you under editorial pressure from the regulator?”
The answer? Not surprising, but deeply concerning. VOTE NO
Attention all ATC Members who received an SMS from the ATC over the weekend. In addition to the impropriety of the communication, there may be legislative breaches of “the Inducement to Vote”. Ignore it and Vote NO @SaveRosehill_
News not from the Daily Tele/PVL Bugle:
Just 3 ATC members from SWSydney tonight at Warwick Farm for the Club’s big presentation on rebuilding the track.
3 locals but 8 ATC consultants 🤪
So little enthusiasm for this.
And no ATC Directors present, like the other 2 nights!! 😮
Scone Race Club Carnival is 4 days away and the regulator decides to bring in the earth moving equipment and start on the inside poly track a week early. BTW It’s only been 6 years in the making.
This is a disgusting article, Gai Waterhouse is racings greatest advocate and racings best ambassador. ATC members have a critical decision ahead of them and that needs to be carefully considered by each and every member, without undue interference. https://t.co/fFcPsCxP8R
