I enjoyed speaking with @politico's Aaron Mak about semiconductors, AI infrastructure and the future of U.S. competitiveness.
One point I continue to emphasize: supply chain resilience comes from diversification. Whether we're talking about chips, energy or critical minerals, no one should be overly dependent on a single geography for strategic supply chains.
At @Playground_VC, we back deep tech companies building the kind of foundational infrastructure that makes resilient supply chains possible. The challenge ahead is creating the economic conditions that sustain both innovation and long-term competitiveness.

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:16-20
AI is moving fast. The question is whether we will simply consume it, or help shape it with wisdom, values and purpose.
This October, @gloo will bring together developers, engineers, ministry leaders and builders in Boulder for the 2026 Gloo AI Hackathon focused on: “Building Together: Humans, Agents and the Future of Flourishing.”
What excites me most is not just the technology. It’s the people building it. The faith ecosystem cannot afford to sit on the sidelines while the next generation of AI platforms, agents and workflows are being created.
We need builders who care deeply about human flourishing, trusted AI and technologies that strengthen communities rather than diminish them. Looking forward to seeing what gets built.

Good read in @WSJ about the growing tension between AI ambition and public trust.
The future of AI won’t just be determined by model performance. It will depend on whether we solve the infrastructure, energy and societal challenges that come with scaling it responsibly.
The industry needs to take these concerns seriously.

AI is moving beyond tools and workflows into something much more personal: influence, trust and formation.
@skytland and I spent two days at Anthropic with researchers, theologians, Church leaders and technologists discussing the future of AI and what it means for humanity.
The church cannot afford to sit on the sidelines while these systems are being shaped.

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language?
Acts 2:1-8
Appreciate the @WSJ coverage of @gloo and the broader opportunity to shape AI in ways that strengthen people and communities.
The values embedded into technology matters. That’s why @gloo is focused on building trusted AI tools for the faith and flourishing ecosystem while helping organizations navigate this next era of technology responsibly.
Excited for what’s ahead.

Grateful for everyone who joined this week’s Way & Wisdom conversation on making hard leadership decisions.
A few takeaways from the session:
- Most leadership failures aren’t failures of knowledge. They’re failures of courage, timing or willingness to absorb the cost of the decision.
- Avoiding the hard call is not compassion. It’s abdication. Leaders are called to do the difficult work with integrity and humanity.
- The bigger the chair, the heavier the weight. Leadership means owning the decision, explaining the why and taking the heat when things go wrong.
Leadership is doing the hard thing and not worrying about who gets the glory.
We’re entering an era where AI will reshape nearly every part of work and society, but as Ben Sasse argues in @WSJ the bigger challenge may be human, not technical.
- Declining trust.
- Weaker communities.
- Shorter attention spans.
- Outsourcing more of our thinking, habits and relationships to algorithms.
The future may depends on how we develop the discipline and character to use them wisely.

Leadership is tested most in the hard decisions.
How do you lead with integrity when the stakes are high, the path isn’t obvious and every option carries consequences?

Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”
Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?"
John 14:5-9
People aren’t just using AI for answers. They’re asking it how to live. ~6% of conversations with Anthropic’s Claude are personal guidance: career, relationships, life decisions.
That number will grow. If AI becomes a source of guidance, we need to ensure it’s grounded in truth, wisdom and human flourishing. That’s the real challenge ahead.

Healthcare is one of the most exciting frontiers for quantum.
NVision is building toward a broader vision of quantum health -- combining quantum sensing, imaging and molecular quantum systems to better understand and treat disease.
Excited to see this milestone from the team.
Today, NVision announced a $55M Series B led by @Abbott and a major expansion from quantum sensing into quantum computing.
POLARIS, our quantum-enhanced MRI platform, is already being deployed at leading research hospitals for real-time metabolic imaging.
Now we’re unveiling PIQC, pronounced “Pixie”: Photonic Integrated Quantum Circuits.
Built on engineered organic molecules, PIQC combines long-lived qubit memory with a built-in photonic interface in a single molecular system, designed to integrate directly with photonic chips.
Spanning quantum sensing and computing, NVision is building toward a broader vision of “Quantum for Healthcare”: delivering the value of quantum technologies to improve human health.

Many Pastors are carrying a role that has become too broad, too complex and too disconnected from the work they were called to do. We need to better support pastors so they can focus on shepherding people well.
New Barna research: Pastors in 2026 are more emotionally resilient and confident in their calling than in years, but vocational satisfaction just hit a decade low.
They’re not doubting the calling. They’re questioning the job description.

As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says:
“See, I lay a stone in Zion,
a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.”
Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,
“The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone”

Thanks to all who joined this week’s Way & Wisdom conversation on financial stewardship! Top three takeaways:
1) Don’t apologize for success: Jesus rebuked the servant who buried his talent, not the one who multiplied it. Excellence and value creation are forms of stewardship.
2) Lifestyle should not rise at the pace of income: As John Wesley taught: save all you can. Live below your means. Margin creates freedom. Discipline in consumption makes radical generosity possible.
3) Generosity compounds: Increase the giving percent of your total gross income every year. The goal isn’t accumulation, it’s impact. Decide your giving before the good year arrives, not during it.
“Make all you can. Save all you can. Give all you can.” Still one of the most practical frameworks for leadership and stewardship ever written!
Join me for our next Way & Wisdom session on May 6.
Financial stewardship is about responsibility, discipline and long-term thinking.
We’ll explore lessons for leaders navigating creation and use of wealth from a practical and biblical perspective.

Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent?
Who may live on your holy mountain?
The one whose walk is blameless,
who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from their heart;
whose tongue utters no slander,
who does no wrong to a neighbor,
and casts no slur on others;
who despises a vile person
but honors those who fear the Lord;
who keeps an oath even when it hurts,
and does not change their mind;
who lends money to the poor without interest;
who does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
Whoever does these things
will never be shaken.
Psalm 15:1-5
