Hydrogen bonding plays a crucial role in the effectiveness of fire extinguisher foam. The bonds create a strong, cohesive foam structure by linking surfactant molecules together, which in turn enhances the foam's ability to suppress fires by forming a barrier between fuel + flame

Pupils were involved in a 'Using your knowledge' carousel in class. This activity allowed pupils the opportunity to develop their confidence and critical thinking skills through active engagement. We also finished off the day with a fantastic awards ceremony for our Juniors!👏

Celebrating Carnival of Cultures this week in Science by exploring traditional remedies and medicines from across the globe. Our new S2s were investigating the anti-microbial properties of ginger, turmeric and thyme. 🧫🫚🪴🏥

S1 pupils embarked on an epic moss safari today 🔬 After collecting moss from our school grounds they were tasked with finding the Big FIVE under the microscope 🪱this consisted of the notorious nematode and the tenacious tardigrade 🥼

Making bath bombs this week with our S1s. What a great way to demonstrate neutralisation reactions! Pupils also gifted their hand made bath bombs to someone special at home 🥹🛁💝🧼🫧

S1 Scientist's learning all about the evolution of the textile industry in Paisley!Today they extracted dye from plant materials by heating with water then filtering the pigment.Excellent work..I'm still struggling with those lab goggles 🥽🤣🥼👨🏼‍🔬🧪🧲��

Our pupils had an unforgettable experience at the Newton Flight academy on Thursday! They worked as a team to calculate their flight path, spot distress signals and fly the Cessna 172 Skyhawk ✈️ well done ✅

4D completing a starter task today where they had to organise the metal 'teams' in order of reactivity! At the top of the league was the most reactive ,Potassium Rovers, with Gold Athletic at the bottom. ⚽🥼🪙
