going back to this thread, before it veered off course, i keep thinking about his hesitation and his insecurities.
his regret that any one of the other heirs would have been better, smarter, more effcient, more merciful than him. and the longing and the loneliness in that worry.
how lost do you think he was without the other heirs?
during the cycles i mean. before the routine set in and he became familiar to the cruelty of it all, how much time do you think he wasted in hesitation, without a direction to follow only an end goal yet to be reached…
@fluffyxgays Oh 100%. I imagine part of the reason they seem to gravitate towards each other so much is because they can only seek this kind of release with each other
thinking again, mydei's slight youthfulness cannot be found in his speech or his actions but in his reactions and response. mydeimos' youthful side only shows when he is interacting with other people, socially.

and that is much less their youthful temperance than it is simply a relationship dynamic. though there is overlap. it does help them feel far more spirited and certainly not old, but its not distictly young either? young hearted maybe?
i wouldnt call his fights and spats with phainon childish, its playful. maybe a bit of hubris from each, but childish isnt something id use to describe it no.
the phainons i tend to write tend to show his tired and self sacrificing sides more but i really do enjoy his arrogant and implusive sides just as much.
hsr really has a way of making phainon feel quite young sometimes (in comparison to the other heirs)
@dawndenier It's not a slight on him at all obviously he's a character who cant control how he's written but some of us like discussing these topics and so we like discussing how they influence our favorite characters. There's no /need/ to read that deep into it but sometimes you want to. ^^
@dawndenier I wouldn't necessarily equate it to treating Amphoreus as "real" but rather another way of analyzing the masculine "hero" archetype that Phainon's character arc revolves around.
He's not a 1 to 1 for that role but in the end that /is/ the expectation he's trying to live up to
@stormfallvalky1 That's exactly it! The 33m cycles is /meant/ to be unrealistic you aren't /supposed/ to be able to fathom a number like that because the entire/point/ is that it's unrealistic and unreasonable but Phainon did it anyways!!!
