NHS guidelines for total vitamin D (D2+D3) levels are > 50 nmol/L in the general population and > 75nmol/L in frail elderly. Anything < 150nmol/L and > above figures is considered within range. Home tests are available to check existing levels.

@zoeharcombe There is currently a national shortage of phenoxymethylpenicillin, which is the standard treatment for group A streptococcal infections. Soon the potential antibiotic alternatives will be in short supply too. The wheels are in motion yet again.

Today we have more staff off with covid than ever before, nearly 5% of the workforce to be exact. That’s nearly 400 staff on covid sick leave from one hospital alone. It’s having a huge impact on patient care.

The NHS as a system is completely broken. Right now every hospital in the area has critical incident status and every day we are firefighting. If you can do anything to keep yourself healthy and out of hospital then do. Sleep, rest, gentle exercise and good nutrition all help.
