UNKNOWN SICKNESS
I woke up one faithful morning, stretched myself, made my bed and went to bathroom to brush my mouth, stared at a mirror I could hardly recognize me. My Jaws has started shaping, me eyes fallen and my head seemed bigger than normal size. I was losing too much weight, and my family was as worried. I hated myself. I just couldn't understand why I was getting so skinny? Why was everything happening to me? My mother was suspecting HIV so I had to go do the test which came back negative. The whole situation was confusing for everyone. My mom began doubting my HIV negativity so she asked a friend to accompany me to do another HIV test which came back negative again. It was only after this test that everyone at home started getting super worried because seriously, what could it be? I was coughing, but yeah we thought it was just a normal cough, then the cough became stronger and now I was coughing blood, I was terrified as I called my mother to come see what was going on. When I coughed again and this time when I spit the blood it wasn't just blood but something like particles of meat was now coming out of my mouth, my mother stared at me with pain in her chest you could literally see the fear in her eyes, she grabbed me by the hand and told me we were going back to the clinic. We went there, and when we got there my mother wasn't ready to listen to anything stories from anyone, she just wanted a referral letter to the hospital because this was a very threatening situation. The next day before the day was fully broken we were already on our way to the hospital to do more tests, because this time around my mom was determined to know the root cause of my sickness. A month later, it was a new year and the results came out. The medical terms were so hard to understand but after the explanation we understood what the doctor meant by MDR-TB(multi drug resistance TB).
Apparently, the medication I had been taking had destroyed my entire left lung and that's why I was coughing particles of the rotten lung through my mouth.
