Watch this Argentina, it’s not like they’re playing for Messi, it’s just team chemistry. Everyone understands where each person will be and the role to do. Messi is just the cherry on top because his movement is simply to be at the right place at the right time to finish those moves.

The structure is bigger than any one player. The automatisms are there the rotations, the pressing triggers, the spacing, the timing of runs. It all looks natural because they’ve built a system where everybody knows the next action before the ball even arrives.

That’s why even when Messi drops deep or disappears for stretches, the team still functions at a high level. They don’t depend on him to create order, he just adds chaos for the opponent. And when you have a player like that inside an already well-drilled machine, it becomes almost impossible to stop.

That’s the difference between relying on a superstar and maximizing one.
