Kali or Kalibasib (Kalikasan bagong sibol), the last Tamaraw bred in captivity in the Mindoro Biodiversity Conservation, Research and Education Center (MBCREC; formerly Tamaraw Gene Pool) passed away this morning (11 Oct 2020). Kali was an offspring of Mimi.
We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of former Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. He was a staunch supporter of biodiversity conservation. Rest in peace Gov. Freddie....

Calamian Deer (Axis calamianensis) is a diurnal species found in grassland and open forest of the Municipality of Busuanga.
