βWhat I encourage groups, players and DMs alike to do, is rather than viewing that as something to chafe against or be unhappy about, embrace it as a storytelling opportunity.β

As #DnD changes over time, I do think we're losing some valuable gems from the earlier generations. I'm not talking about evil orcs or the term "race" (good riddance). But a sort of magic emerged from a certain style of play. That's worth exploring.

As mentioned last week, I'm leaving. I've got a bit more scheduled content but then I'm out οΏ½οΏ½οΏ½οΈ. Look at my name for where to find me. I'd love to see more folks there.

Astia is sand that has been magically infused with gold.
It can undergo processes to remove the valuable gold, the arcane residuum, or both from ores found deep within the world.

As #DnD Dungeon Masters, we see inspiration all around us. Books, television, movies, music, and much else inspire our games. But often weβre short on ideas when we sit down to build our world or prepare a game session.

I worked on a fun little product with amazing folks a few years ago. I see it show up in the wild more than anything else I've worked on. I still get weekly download requests from some ancient Google share link that exists somewhere.
Enjoy.

Rules like encumbrance and rations can reinforce a specific theme in #DnD. But they are only fun for a short time at best. Consider allowing your party to "level" out of them at level 2 or 3 if you use them.
